June 4, 2019 - Senator Ward joined Jennifer Miller, Texie Waddell and Laruen Hill from the Westmoreland County Food Bank, Inc. during the Fill a Glass with Hope event at the State Capitol in Harrisburg sponsored by the PA Dairymen’s Association. As June is National Dairy Month the Association is promoting the Fill a Glass with Hope program which provides well over three million servings of milk to statewide member food banks.

May 9, 2019 - Senator Ward joined Waste Management and the Bridge Foundation at a check presentation for the Catholic Schools in the Greensburg Diocese. Contributions such as these are made possible through Pennsylvania’s EITC program.
May 7, 2019 - Republican and Democrat members of the Hunger Caucus kicked off the 10th year of the Capitol Hunger Garden. The garden is visibly located between the Capitol and the Ryan Office Building right on the plaza. The food is donated to food banks, soup kitchens and pantries in Central PA.
May 1, 2019 - Senator Ward met with some of the apprentices from the Operating Engineers Local 66. These individuals are gaining the skills necessary to make a great living, the challenge right now is there are job openings but no one to fill them in many sectors of our economy. The trade unions offer apprenticeships and an opportunity to land a good job without the burden of high student debt. There are also opportunities through trade schools and some Community colleges to learn a skill that will send you on your way to an apprenticeship.
April 30, 2019 – Congratulations to these Norwin Middle School students on winning the regionals in the statewide Catalyst Connection video competition titled “What’s so Cool about Manufacturing.”
April 30, 2019 – Congratulations to the team of students from the Norwin School District for being selected as the PennDOT District 12 winner for its second Innovations Challenge. Students were asked to look at innovative methods to get drivers to slow down in work zones. The team’s innovation was “Laser Technology Solution to Speeding and Safety for Construction Workers”. April 17, 2019 – Senator Ward visited Pleasant Lane Farm, this farm is incorporating a first of its kind laboratory in their cheese making and dairy facility. The farm is owned and operated by Ralph and Ann Frye; They are joined by their sons Jason, Todd and Chad along with their families. Ralph Frye is a Marine Corp. veteran. Pennsylvania Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding stated “farmers who are veterans keep us fed during the day and let us sleep safely at night”. PA Farm Bureau President Rick Ebert and Senator Pat Stefano also joined the group during the farm visit.
March 23, 2019 - Senator Ward attended the ground breaking dedication for the Westmoreland County Veterans War on Terror Plaza. The War on Terror changed everything. Thank you to all who have served and those who are continuing the service of keeping America safe, and to Colonel Sam Wagner for his leadership on this project. We will never forget the sacrifice of those who gave their lives and the families who now live without them.
March 20, 2019 – Senator Ward welcomed and congratulated the Greensburg Central Catholic High School Girls Golf Team for placing first in the 2018 PIAA Class AA State Golf Championship, during Senate session.
March 18, 2019 - Senator Ward hosted the Hempfield Area High School Girls Softball Team on the Senate floor. The Spartans are the first team to win three consecutive year State titles winning the 2018 PIAA State Class 6A Softball Championship.
March 16, 2019 – The Jeannette American Legion celebrated their 100th Anniversary. The Legion is a symbol of generation of soldiers who have fought for our country. Congratulations and thank you for your service.
February 21, 2019 - Senator Ward spent lunchtime with 59 fourth graders at Mendon Elementary School as their Career Cafe speaker, and they asked a lot of good questions!

February 7, 2019 – Senator Ward attended the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission legislative meet and greet. SPC is a 10 county regional transportation commission in SWPA. Roads bridges and mass transit are vital to our region’s growth and economy.
January 29, 2019- Senator Ward recognized Alexander (Xander) Eddy, a fourth-grade student at Sunset Valley Elementary School in North Huntingdon, during the Senate Session. Xander is the youngest American ever to win the Pan American Kickboxing Championship, he won the gold medal in the male open weight 9 year old category for Team USA during the World Association of Kickboxing Organization Pan American Championships held in Riviera Maya, Mexico.
January 29, 2019-Senator Ward met with Rick Ebert, President of the PA Farm Bureau and a constituent, to discuss issues relating to farm vehicles.
January 28, 2019- Senator Ward and Representative Matzie stopped to say hello to Victoria. She was in Harrisburg to keep Victoria's Law front and center for legislators. Victoria’s Law will drive the pet market in PA towards more humane sources by prohibiting the sale of commercially-raised dogs, cats and rabbits in pet stores, and increase transparency by requiring sellers to include identifying information in advertisements. Victoria is a German Shepherd who was rescued from a Pennsylvania puppy mill after 10 years of breeding. She is now paralyzed as a result of a genetic, neurological disorder called Degenerative Myelopathy, a disease she passed down to the estimated 150-200 puppies she produced while at the puppy mill.

The students called their company Z Innovations (because they are the Z generation). They came up with their ideas, researched those ideas, raised money and then put it all together from paint colors to lighting to table shapes
