PA Senator Kim Ward and PA Representative Mike Reese Announces Small Water and Sewer Grants for District Projects in Mt. Pleasant and Ligonier Townships

Greensburg, PA – Today, PA Senator Kim Ward (39th) and PA Representative Mike Reese (59th) announced that the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Financing Authority (C.F.A.) recently approved three grants totaling $761,132 for projects in Ligonier and Mt. Pleasant Townships from the Small Water and Sewer Grant Program.

The grants approved were for the following projects:

  • $302,430 to the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County for drinking water line extension for 19 homes on Charlotte and High Acre Drive in Ligonier Township.
  • $396,652 to the Mount Pleasant Township Municipal Authority for renovation of the Shupe’s Run sanitary sewer collection system in Mt. Pleasant Township.
  • $62,050 to the Mount Pleasant Township Municipal Authority for a new pump at the Brinkerton Pump Station in Mt. Pleasant Township.

“On behalf of myself and Representative Reese, we are fortunate to see these three worthy projects receive funding to move forward,” stated Ward.  “The opportunities through this grant program continue to help infrastructure needs throughout our shared district,” she finished.

The C.F.A. PA Small Water and Sewer Program provides grants to municipalities and municipal authorities for activities to assist with the construction, improvement, expansion, or rehabilitation and repair of a water supply or sanitary sewer system.
