Harrisburg, PA– State Senator Kim Ward (R-39) announced today that the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has awarded the City of Latrobe a $250,000 grant through the Community Conservation Partnerships Program (CCPP) for development of the Lincoln Avenue Trail and Greenway Park in Latrobe and Derry Township.
The project will include construction of approximately 2.4 miles of trail along Lincoln Avenue from PA State Route 981 in Latrobe to Pa State Route 982 in Derry Township. Additional improvements will be ADA access, landscaping, project signage, and related site improvements.
“This is a terrific project for the Latrobe and Derry area. They continue to work hard toward regionalizing their parks and recreational opportunities which will have a sizeable benefit for the residents in both communities. This is a worthwhile project that I was happy to be a part of.”
The CCPP program is administered by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and includes the Keystone Recreation, Park Conservation Fund (Key 93), the Environmental Steward Fund (Growing Greener 1) and several federal funding sources.
